Hi, from Willits, California! I’m Jean Hanamoto, artist and the creator of this web page, celebrating 13 years of supporting medical marijuana (11 on line), and doing the art that I love. My husband, George, and I moved to Mendocino County on April 20 (4/20!), 2005 from Morgan Hill where we lived for 20 years. It’s wonderful here, and I’ve been privileged to see and photograph more beautiful, healthy gardens than ever. These are my original photographs (computer enhanced) of legal medical marijuana gardens all over Northern California. They’re also a labor of love. I’ve created a variety of intimate close-ups, lush vistas, natural and enhanced colors and textures.

Cannabis is a graceful and beautiful herb. In all it’s different stages - leaf, bud and harvest - it is a joy to the artist, and humanitarian, in me. Some of the images appear to be created in different media, such as watercolor, oil, pencil and pen, but they all started as my original photographs. Marijuana is medicine, and having seen the good it can do, I want to support that outlook.
